It's a top down/iso strategy RPG. It doesn't need super awesome 3d modeling because the camera is never going to pan into anything that close. It will have a style close to or similar to Fallout Tactics. I have every confidence this will be a AAA title regardless of how much money is spent.
They're letting people know now so people can allocate enough of they're own time to fix the game when it's released.
Can we at least all agree that the Yahtzee! movie will be a visual tour de force?
Can't wait for the Connect Four movie myself. And the Gnip Gnop trilogy is gonna rule.
Might be the first time a game scores higher then the movie lol.
I forgot all about that game. So many brain cells killed between then and now...
Maniac Mansion first! Then Day of the Tentacle!
Sadly, LucasArts is more concerned with churning out endless crappy Star Wars games then making graphic adventures. I had such high hopes when the first two HD Monkey Island games came out.
Oh 90's LucasArts, where have you gone? *sigh*
Amen 360. I don't know how many times I've sighed to myself over another moronic "top whatever" list.
Oh good! Then we should expect to hear ZERO crying from NT when the game tanks like we did with all the Heavenly Sword and Enslaved whining and crying.
I really liked the character customization/creation. Nothing bums me out quicker then playing an adventure or RPG game where my "hero" looks like a complete schmuck.
Frankly, I think Populous WAS his greatest game. Nothing in his body of work since then, in my opinion, leads me to believe he'll ever surpass it.
It's a shame that EA now owns all the great games Origin made. Wing Commander, Ultima, etc will all sit in limbo hell. At least until they can turn them into a FPS.
It helps to be a seemingly nice fellow and not a complete corporate douche bag also.
Make some new 2-D side scrollers. Either original style or hybrid 2D/3D and put them on PSN/Live for $15 or $20 dollars.
And while your at it, make me a new Ghouls 'n' Ghosts too!
Indeed!
*waits for article complaining that it took less time*
Don't forget! Only two more days left on Kickstarter so if you can afford to donate please do. $15 bucks gets you the game and the original Wasteland was a great game. If you love real RPG's, do yourself a favor and donate!
We don't need touch screens to save adventure games. What we need is for good adventure games to actually be made. It's a shame that a company like LucasArts, arguably the greatest point-and-click adventure game maker, can find tens of millions of dollars to churn out another shitty Star Wars game but can't find under one million to make an adventure game.
Well we always have Tim Schafer and Kickstarter.
And what happens when they decide to flip the switch on the console 10-20 years down the line and all your games become coasters? I still play my NES for cripes sake.
A friend of mine is playing the import. He's told me it's frustratingly hard numerous times. I however have never seen or played it so I can't verify that claim.
